Epitome Updates Redmark Software for NEXTSTEP

Knoxville, TN; April 15, 1993 -  Epitome Incorporated announced today the
release and shipment of the latest update to their Redmark on-screen document
markup software for NEXTSTEP. Epitome also announced their commitment to
release, in June, a version of Redmark that runs under NEXTSTEP for Intel
processors.

Redmark is Epitome's innovative software package that provides on-screen
markup for all types of documents. Unlike the annotation tools provided in
other applications (which only work with that application's documents),
Redmark marks up all types of documents (word processing, page layout,
illustration, spreadsheet, ...) with one application. Redmark is able to do
this by using a "print image" PostScript file of the document being reviewed.
Reviewers place comments into transparent overlays using sticky (Post-it)
notes, voice recordings, text annotations, standard proofreading symbols, and
drawn or imported graphics. Redmark is as simple to use as marking on paper
with a red pencil. With Redmark, a completely paperless document review cycle
is now possible.

The newly released version 1.1 of Redmark is fully compatible with NEXTSTEP
3.0. In a major enhancement, users can now customize the palette of
proofreading marks with their own PostScript images. Version 1.1 also gives
users more flexibility in configuring Redmark's functionality through several
new preferences. Of course, Redmark 1.1 is upward compatible with all
documents produced by previous versions.

Redmark 1.1 is being sent free to all registered users. The list price of the
new version remains unchanged at $285, with discounts for educational
institutions and multi-user site licenses.

In June, Epitome will release a version of Redmark that will operate on both
Motorola and Intel-based computers under NEXTSTEP 3.1. Al Johnson, Epitome's
president, says that this "... represents our continuing commitment to
supporting NEXTSTEP as the best operating system for networked productivity
applications."
